As the nation revels in the vibrant hues of Holi, leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) maintain their stance against the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case linked to a money laundering investigation. Amidst the festive fervor, AAP leader Atishi announced a decision to abstain from playing with colours this year, calling for solidarity in the fight against injustice and cruelty.

Atishi's statement resonated with a deeper symbolism, highlighting Holi as a symbol of justice triumphing over cruelty and evil. In a veiled critique aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she underscored the importance of preserving democracy and resisting authoritarian tendencies.

"The cruel dictator has imprisoned our beloved Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This relentless assault on democracy must be challenged. We urge everyone to join us in this pivotal battle against injustice and cruelty," Atishi's message echoed.

The AAP's protest extends beyond symbolic gestures, with plans for a 'Maha Rally' on March 31 under the INDIA bloc, aimed at rallying support against Kejriwal's arrest and safeguarding democratic principles. Atishi emphasized that the rally wasn't solely to defend Kejriwal but to uphold the essence of democracy in the face of escalating challenges.

The arrest of Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate, remanded to custody until March 28, has sparked outrage among opposition leaders. Atishi expressed concerns over the targeting of opposition figures and the erosion of democratic norms, citing instances of political leaders facing legal repercussions and financial constraints.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge denounced Kejriwal's arrest as a calculated move to weaken the opposition, particularly ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The political landscape remains charged as parties mobilize support and advocate for the preservation of democratic institutions.

As the AAP's protest gathers momentum and resonates beyond the realm of politics, the fight for justice and democracy takes center stage, urging citizens to stand united against oppression and safeguard the foundational principles of democracy.
